How Basculegion plays
Basculegion is the format's only viable physical Ghost spam attacker. Last Respects scales with the number of fallen teammates similarly to Supreme Overlord, but the Ghost type means Sneasler's Close Combat and Garchomp's Earthquake do not threaten it. Adaptability multiplies the effective STAB on Last Respects to two-thirds rather than one-half, which compounds the per-fainted-teammate scaling.
The early game is straightforward: stay alive, let teammates trade, and convert. Mid-game decisions become harder. Last Respects at plus-sixty percent damage one-shots most defenders, which raises the question of whether to commit now or save the plus-ninety scaling for a second wave. Wave Crash plus the recoil takes Basculegion out of the game faster than its raw HP suggests, so support that includes Sitrus or Salac timing is worth the slot. Wide Guard partners protect the spread-damage matchups it folds to.
