How Sinistcha plays
Sinistcha is the format's main Rage Powder user, and Hospitality is on 99.5% of its sets: the ability restores a quarter of its partner's HP the moment Sinistcha switches in, so the redirect turn and the healing turn are the same turn. Heatproof is the alternative ability, halving Fire damage against Sun and Charizard teams, but almost nobody gives up Hospitality for it.
The standard set runs Matcha Gotcha for damage-and-healing in one move, Rage Powder to pull single-target attacks off the partner, Trick Room, and Protect. Counterplay is structural. Grass-types ignore powder moves entirely — Rillaboom, the most-used Pokémon in M-C, can simply attack past Rage Powder — Taunt cancels both Trick Room and the redirect, and spread moves hit the partner regardless. A Sinistcha that gets Taunted or faces a Grass lead is no longer doing its job.
